Pictures of me doing some stunts!
cOoL!!!

(L) @ 9:37 PM

  • Before we took this picture I did fall onto those rocks behind me.. It was so painful.. And I try it again and again and I almost gave up and I really felt the pain and I don't wish to continue.. ANYMORE! But, I seriously can't move on.

  • Then suddenly, in my mind, says that you cannot succed without falling and failing. It is the mother of success. I must have a positive attitude and the spirit to move on in order to get that moment in the picture, which in this case this picture it is exactly what I want and with the background makes it perfect.

  • So I tried again... Again, abit hiccups here and there... But I finally when on and the moves are super nice! After my photograper had taken this shot, and when I see it, it makes me feel that losing makes you think and indirectly, your brain start to rewind and u can picture yourself on why and where you did and how you did.. You have to do it when you are relax.. When you know where you when wrong and how can you correct it.

  • Then, when you know, your brain will tell the body to act accordingly. And you suddenly have the spirit to try again and really focus and relax.. I guess I wasn't relax back then, because I had to do alot of times under a sunny hot day where no one is there at the park. And finally I managed to do it perfectly... I was so happy!

  • After I get the hang of it and I have the momentum, I start to do alot of things, alot of moves and felt very confident in all the moves that I have done.

  • The next pictures are those that I like and "WOW"... So watch it!

A million thanx to the professional photographer NurAida that has helped me with all the capturing of my pics for my personal development project purpose..

OK! This is called the lazy vault. There are alot of vaults in Le Parkour. This moves is the most easy moves and this is the first move that I've learn when I first started doing vaults. Now Im going to explain to you all how to do it in steps. But remember, safety first and when you get the hang of it, practice, practice and practice...

Here are the steps:

  1. Steps
  • Find a rail about groin height that is firm and won't budge.
  • Run up the rail at 45 degrees and place the hand nearest the rail on it.
  • Swing the leg nearest the rail up and over.
  • Let your other leg follow through.
  • Once both legs are over, place your other hand behind on the rail and use it to push off from the rail.
  • Land smoothly then continue running.

2. Tips

  • Practice , practice, practice! This trick is easy but you'd be surprised how easy it is to mess up.
  • Look what you're vaulting over before you try this.... falling 30 feet isn't nice.

    3. Warnings
  • Parkour and Free running are extreme sports. Do not attempt without proper training and perhaps consider visiting a gym for practice then move on up to the street.
  • Keep your back hand down! If you don't you'll land facing a strange angle from the rail and trip.

These are the full demostration of jumping, landing, breaking the fall, roll forward and continue the momentum. As you can see, I do it at a soft mat, a galvanised rubber material to start off with my basics. With comfortable clothings and proper sport shoes which allows the absorption of impact or shock when you land. Doing the roll itself is not easy.. At first, I rolled side ways.. With proper training and guidance from friends and other Traceurs, thanks to them, I managed to do it properly. It says that, when you roll, you roll forward and you have to feel the ground touching you from the top right of the shoulder and across the back to your left hip. And vice-versa if you use your top left shoulder.

In this picture, I am doing the most basic thing that every traceurs must know. This is called the “break fall”. “Break-fall” means, to lessen the impact of falling due to gravity pull. And plus if your body weight is “BIG” you will have some difficulties breaking the fall. In my pictures, this is the correct technique to break the fall. First, you have to land on the ball of your feet. Then , lean forward and then roll your whole body forward, this is because to continue the momentum that you have. This is a French sport, so I have to know the French language, in other words the terms of every action is named. So this moves is called “roulade” . Landing and rolling are two very important things. The stuff in videos, 3m drops and they like? Forget it for now. Practice on 30cm-1m drops. Landing is essential, the wrong technique will most definitely kill you in the long run.

Me getting Ready to perform what I have to do. All warmed-up and ready to go. Safety always FIRST! So I have checked the surroundings and its all safe. I practiced at this very own galvanised rubber. It is supposed to be safe.. I guess... For now... Wearing gloves.. Wearing comfy clothes is a must, because you don't want to be sweaty with your Blazers or jacket with long jeans will you?..
